Bayanat AI, a provider of AI-driven geospatial and smart mobility solutions, and Oxa, a British AV technology company have partnered to advance the development and deployment of AV solutions in the UAE and beyond.
The collaboration will pair Bayanat’s AI-powered geospatial analytics capabilities and AV experiences with Oxa’s AV technologies to create new solutions for smart cities and autonomous transportation systems.
The partnership will receive support from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) through its Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industry (SAVI) cluster. The cluster was launched in 2023 to create a smart and autonomous vehicles hub in the MENA region, supporting the innovation and commercialization of smart and autonomous vehicle technologies in the UAE. Here, the SAVI cluster provides dedicated facilities and services within an enabling regulatory environment to encourage the development of these technologies within the region.
One of the envisioned outcomes of Bayanat and Oxa’s partnership will be to explore the development of an Autonomous Mobility Centre of Excellence, a dedicated facility that would utilize Abu Dhabi’s regional ecosystem, while hiring and nurturing local software, hardware, and operations engineers; data scientists; legal professionals; and general support staff. The facility would receive support from Oxa’s own academic network, and the company’s work with local academics and universities on topics such as future visions, engineering, and entrepreneurship.
Bayanat and Oxa are more broadly looking to jointly create new services in the sector, supported by an advisory board formed from UAE industry representatives, along with senior leaders from Oxa.
