Wayve, a company specializing in AI-drive autonomous technologies, has expanded its US operations with the opening of a new office in Silicon Valley and the start of a driver assistance testing program in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

For Wayve, this expansion marks its first on-road trials outside its home territory in the UK, and a key step towards its goal to develop AI software capable of powering driving assistances and automation features for vehicles around the world. Wayve’s US testing will focus on ADAS, while also expanding the geographic scope of its AI Driver product – building the foundation for scalable driving software that can operate in diverse conditions across multiple countries.

To support this new testing, and strengthen local partnerships, Wayve has established a new office in Sunnyvale, California. Wayve’s newly-formed Silicon Valley team will focus its efforts on several fields – including software development, hardware integration, and deployment operations. Through these initiatives, the company is ultimately demonstrating its commitment to innovation and growth in the US.

More broadly, Wayve’s overseas expansion supports the company’s long-term vision to deliver AI-powered driving software that can adapt to different environments and driving cultures. As it continues to develop its Embodied AI products for automotive applications, Waymo plans to announce further expansion plans in the coming year.
