WeRide, together with Resorts World and EZ Buzz, has launched a new publicly accessible, L4 robotaxi shuttle service at the Resorts World Sentosa complex in Sentosa, Singapore. The service, called Robobus, will span 1.2 kilometers (0.74 miles) across the resort, with four stops along this route, and take approximately 12 minutes to complete.

The launch follows WeRide receiving Singapore’s M1 and T1 public road licenses in December 2023, allowing it to operate its AVs while accelerating the development and deployment of the Robobus itself. Specializing in micro-transit, the Robobus has been deployed and operated in around 30 cities to date. These deployments have seen the AV used in mid-sized cities, major airports, luxury resorts, and tourist attractions.

In addition to its commercial deployment of Robobus in the country, WeRide had recently announced deployed its autonomous service vehicle, Robosweeper. Moving forward, WeRide will look to continue collaborating with local partners to deliver more products, services, and business models to the Singapore market, and Southeast Asian markets more broadly. This initiative, WeRide says, will ultimately provide efficient and high-quality autonomous driving services to local citizens and tourists, contributing to the development of smart transportation systems in the region overall.
