Quannery Systems has announced that their solid state LiDAR sensor has acquired IATF 16949 certification. This certification acquisition follows the announcement this month that Quanergy has already obtained another very important ISO 9001: 2015 quality standard certification. In response to these certifications, Quanergy will begin mass production of S3 solid state sensor on a newly certified product line.

ATF 16949 formulated by the International Automobile Industry Special Committee (IATF) is certification that sets requirements for quality control systems for organizations in the automobile industry. Quanergy ‘s solid – state LiDAR product line has received a thorough quantitative assessment to ensure eligibility and to meet this certification requirement. This evaluation consists of 113 tasks in 5 stages, which are based on rigorous requirements for automobiles and data obtained by statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA).

Automotive grade LiDAR sensors are manufactured by a strict production process and must pass tests that significantly reduce sensor defectivity. Normally, the certification process takes an average of 24 months, but since the facilities of Quanergy are automated, we were able to acquire the qualification requirements for this certification in 18 months.
