This update adds information on the 2018 Altima, 2018 Versa Note and 2018 Frontier – as well as the 2018 Armada Platinum Reserve, which made its debut at the recent State Fair of Texas.
Three new technologies already have been announced: ProPILOT™ Assist, Rear Door Alert (RDA) and Intelligent Rearview Mirror (I-RVM). Nissan also recently announced that it is making Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) standard on a projected one million vehicles sold in the United States for model year 2018, including seven of the company’s most popular models – Rogue/Rogue Sport, Altima, Murano, LEAF, Pathfinder, Maxima and Sentra (except manual transmission-equipped and all NISMO versions).
Following are the updates, mainly about the safety features:
2018 Nissan Altima
For the 2018 model year, all Altima models include Nissan’s advanced Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) as standard equipment. In addition, the top of the lineup Altima 3.5 SL receives standard Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC).
2018 Nissan LEAF
The all-new Nissan LEAF with the new e-powertrain boosts acceleration and excitement. ProPILOT™ Assist and e-Pedal driver assistance technologies make driving more enjoyable, helping enhance safety and reduce stress.
2018 Nissan Pathfinder
For 2018, Pathfinder adds additional new features, including standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), an enhanced Midnight Edition appearance package and an innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system. The Rear Door Alert system can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat – pets, valuables, dry cleaning, groceries and more. If the system detects that a rear door is opened prior to driving, and the customer does not open a rear door again at the end of the trip, the system can remind customers that something might be left in the rear seat
2018 Nissan Armada
And, for the first time on any Nissan vehicle, Armada Platinum models include standard Intelligent Rear View Mirror (I-RVM), which uses a high-resolution camera mounted on the rear of the vehicle to project a clear image onto an LCD monitor built into the standard rearview mirror.
Available safety and convenience features include Intelligent Distance Control (I-DC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW), Lane Departure Warning/Intelligent Lane Intervention (LDW/I-LI) and Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I-AVM).
2018 Nissan Pathfinder
Pathfinder adds additional new features, including standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), an enhanced Midnight Edition appearance package and an innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system. Other changes for the new model year include two new colors – Scarlet Ember and Midnight Pine – standard Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC).
