The Honda HR-V, 2019 model has earned a Top Safety Pick (TSP) rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), when equipped with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights, including the highest possible rating of “Good” in all six crashworthiness tests and a “Superior” rating for its available Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), part of the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistive and safety technologies.

For the first time, the HR-V is available with an optional front crash prevention system, which earns a superior rating. In IIHS track tests at 12 mph and 25 mph, the SUV avoided collisions. The system’s forward collision warning component meets the criteria set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
