Gatik, an autonomous middle-mile logistics company, has announced plans to develop and deploy Nvidia Drive AGX in-vehicle compute architecture across its fleet of class 6 and class 7 Freight-Only (driverless) vehicles. Through this collaboration, Gatik is aiming to accelerate the deployment of L4 trucks at scale across new markets for its customer base, which today includes Walmart, Kroger and Tyson Foods.

Here, Gatik will utilize the Nvidia Drive AGX accelerated by Nvidia’s Drive Thor SoC to serve as the ‘AI brain’ for its next-generation autonomous trucks. Drive AGX Thor itself runs on Nvidia’s DriveOS operating system built on the Nvidia Blackwell architecture, and offers up to 1,000 trillion operations per second to support the development and deployment of autonomous trucks, and other vehicles, at scale.

The logistics company’s new partnership with Nvidia builds on its existing, long-term, collaboration with Isuzu North America Corporation, who it has been working with to accelerate the development of autonomous driving solutions since 2021. Since 2024, the companies have worked towards commercializing Freight-Only (driverless) operations at scale. The AVs delivered through these operations will pair Gatik’s autonomous technology with Nvidia’s accelerated compute solutions to safely scale Freight-Only for Gatik’s customers.

For Gatik, these collaborations ultimately represent a key development as it works towards its goal of commercializing autonomous trucking at scale. Through the production and deployment of its Freight-Only vehicles, Gatik is more broadly aiming to address the acute needs and expectations of its customers while serving their end consumers with higher frequency, and lower costs.
