BMW releases 2018 model year updates

Information on changes to standard equipment, lines, packages and standalone options are given below:

Cross-Platform Standard and Optional Equipment Changes.

Rear View Camera is now standard on all models.

For the 2018 model year, the 2018 BMW X1, BMW 2 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW X3, BMW 5 Series (excl. BMW M550i xDrive), BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, BMW X5, and BMW X6 package structure has been redesigned. Each model will now have a tiered package structure, with single options being unlocked after a specific tier is ordered.

Lines and Package changes:

  • Technology Package (ZTP) is no longer available, as its contents have shifted to other packages.
  • Parking Assistant Plus (5DN or 5DL+5DP) is offered as a Parking Assistance Package (ZPK). Pricing varies by model.
  • Active Driving Assistant (5AS/8TH) is offered as a Driving Assistance Package (ZDA). In certain cases, Head-up display (610) is also included. Pricing varies by model.
  • When available, Active Driving Assistant Plus (5AT) is offered as a Driving Assistance Plus Package (ZDB). Pricing varies by model.

2018 BMW 2 Series Coupe.

Standard Equipment now includes:

  • LED Headlights (5A2) replace Halogen lights on 230i models and replace Xenon adaptive headlights (522+524) on the M240i models.

Optional Equipment now includes:

  • Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go (available on certain 230i models)

The All-New 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.

Standard Equipment now includes:

  • Park Distance Control (508)
  • Icon Adaptive Full LED Headlights (552) and Automatic High Beams (5AC)
  • Active Driving Assistant (5AS)

Optional Equipment now includes:

  • Driving Assistance Package (ZDA) is not offered, due to the fact that Active Driving Assistant (5AS) is standard equipment.
  • Lighting Package (ZLP) is not offered, as Icon Adaptive Full LED Headlights (552) and Automatic High Beams (5AC) are standard equipment.
  • Executive Package (ZPX) includes Soft Close Doors (323), Parking Assistant Plus (5DN), Head-up Display (610), and Gesture control (6U8). Pricing is $2,150.
  • Active Cruise Control (5DF) is only available for customer orders for $1,200.

2018 BMW 7 Series.

Optional Equipment now includes:

  • On BMW 740i and BMW 740e models, Active Driving Assistant will be offered as a stand-alone option.

Lines and Package changes:

  • BMW 740i, BMW 740e, and BMW 750i models are now available with the Parking Assistance Package which includes the Parking Assistant and Surround View Camera.
  • The Driver Assistance Package on the BMW 740i and BMW 740e models has been renamed Driving Assistance Package and includes Active Driving Assistant and Head-up Display.
  • The Driver Assistance Package on the BMW 750i models has been renamed Driving Assistance Package and now includes the Active Driving Assistant.
  • The Driver Assistance Plus package has been renamed Driving Assistance Plus Package and consists of the Active Driving Assistant Plus.
  • Driver Assistance Plus II Package is no longer offered, as its contents are now included in the Diving Assistance Plus Package.

2018 ALPINA B7.

Lines and Package changes:

  • The Driver Assistance Package has been renamed Driving Assistance Package and now includes the Active Driving Assistant.
  • As of July 2017 production, ALPINA B7 comes with the Parking Assistance Package which includes Surround View Camera and Parking Assistant.

2018 BMW M2 Coupe.

Standard Equipment now includes:

  • LED Headlights (5A2) replace Xenon adaptive headlights (522+524), which are no longer offered.
